CONNERSVILLE, Ind. - Carbon Motors Corporation announced today that it will team up with Bosch Engineering and Inteva Products, LLC, to develop the electrical architecture and cockpit of the Carbon E7: the world's first and only purpose-built law enforcement patrol vehicle - designed by law enforcement, exclusively for law enforcement.

Bosch Engineering, with offices in Farmington Hills, Mich., will lead the development of the electrical architecture for the Carbon E7 including integrating key aspects of the law enforcement vehicle such as emergency lights, communications equipment, WMD threat detection capabilities, automatic license plate recognition systems, radar, and sirens as well as Carbon's own proprietary ORCA? (On-Board Rapid Command Architecture). Currently in police vehicles law enforcement components are retrofitted to existing retail passenger cars. By integrating these elements and others into the original design of a truly purpose-built vehicle, it will greatly enhance officer safety, substantially improve ergonomics yielding a world-class human-machine interface, reduce vehicle down-time, provide breakthrough improvements in functionality while reducing overall repair costs and provide for game-changing developments in service diagnostic capabilities.
