What's New with the BMW XM for 2026?

The 2026 BMW XM features one big change to the overall lineup, and handful of small cosmetic changes otherwise. Highlights include:

  • BMW XM Label is now the sole option, with the base XM model leaving the lineup
  • New black painted 23-inch wheels available
  • New Frozen Tanzanite Blue paint option
  • Three new Merino Leather options
  • Improved hybrid charging speed: from 7.4 kW to 11 kW

Exterior Design

The oversized kidney grille design concept lives on in the 2026 BMW XM, sat between a pair of narrowed LED headlights with twin signature lights on each side. Aggressive angles are a stark departure from the understated nature of most BMW SUVs, and the bold looks ensure that the new XM is a true showstopper when you take it out on the town.

The aggressive upper grilles are accentuated by an equally bold lower grille and chin spoiler that give the 2026 BMW XM a truly angsty face. A sloping roofline and wide stance give this luxury crossover more sporty proportions, while the premium touch of LED character lines is a true signature touch. New LED animations welcome you as you approach, and the 23-inch wheels are now offered in a sleek black paint colorway. Plus, you can now have your XM in Frozen Tanzanite Blue.

Interior Design

The cabin of the 2026 BMW XM celebrates both the old and the new. Vintage leather upholstery options give you a truly unique look and premium feel, with standout textures and grains that will be different on each individual XM thanks to the natural finish. Performance

The 2026 BMW XM is an ultra-high performance plug-in hybrid crossover. It uses a 4.4-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbocharged V8 engine plus an electric motor to deliver a combined 738 horsepower - and this is now the standard kit for all new BMW XM models in 2026.

This means everyone gets the full brunt of the XM's powerful plug-in hybrid setup, with acceleration from zero to 60 mph taking just 3.3 seconds. What's more, you can take advantage of the EV-only mode for your Denver commutes on I-25, and go fuel free for up to 31 miles.

Technology

With the BMW Remote App, you can use your smartphone as a remote to start and lock your new BMW XM even when you're miles away. You can also adjust climate control settings before you get in for a drive, and scheduling service appointments can be done in a matter of minutes.

Once behind the wheel, the BMW XM features a widescreen curved display that integrates both the infotainment display and instrument cluster, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make for an effortless smartphone integration. This widescreen display is customizable via a drag-and-drop feature similar to your smartphone. That makes it easier to relocate your most-used apps and settings so you can have the exact home screen you want. In addition, you can utilize the split pane setup to see wider shots of navigation maps, performance and efficiency data, and media at a glance.

Safety
